Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez, a Mexican-American singer and actress is very popular. She was raised by her mom and her father, in USA. Her childhood was filled with racist taunts and being made to feel unwelcome. When she was in 9th grade she felt more secure after being acknowledged by her teachers as a success when she sang at the school's audition. The experience not only increased her confidence but also changed the direction in which she went on to pursue her professional career. At 22, she graduated from New York's Julliard School. In 1993 she had her Broadway debut with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was called You've Got Mail. However her greatest breakthrough came when she appeared in the role of The Lady of The Lake in the very first Broadway performance of Spamalot winning not just the Tony Award for her performance as well as a lot of critical praise. Her fame grew when she appeared in Grey's Anatomy on ABC as Dr. Callie Torres. She is known as a performer and also released a single and an extended show. In addition, she has been an advocate for LGBT issues.
